HOME ENERGY AUDITS

Some home energy professionals provide a simple assessment called the Home Energy Score.  Like a miles per gallon rating of a car, the Home Energy Score is an easy to produce rating designed to help homeowners and homebuyers gain useful information about a home’s energy performance.  Home and building owners, have experienced at some point performance issues in their facilities.  Rooms that are too cold or too hot, versus rooms that maintain a perfect temperature and indoor air quality.  Humidity issues that could result in health problems due to condensation and lack of proper air ventilation.  Attics or basements poorly designed, leaky windows, doors, wooden floors and fire places, are the most common issues detected when performing energy efficiency testing.  These audits are the first step to diagnose what measures are needed in any building to reduce energy waste.

INDOOR AIR QUALITY

The quality of indoor air inside offices, schools, home and other living structures is important not only for people comfort but also for their health. Poor indoor air quality has been tied to symptoms like headache, fatigue, irritation of eyes, nose, throat and lungs. Also, some specific diseases have been linked to specific air contaminants or indoor environments, like asthma with damp indoor environments. In addition, some exposures such asbestos and radon, do not cause immediate symptoms but can lead to cancer after many years. Poor ventilation, problems controlling temperature, high or low humidity, recent remodeling, and other activities in or near a building that can affect the fresh air coming into the building are factors affecting indoor air quality. Synergys will provide a holistic approach to these types of issues which will provide health benefits that are hard to quantify

INSULATION

Insulation provides resistance to heat flow and lowers heating and cooling costs. Correct insulation on your property not only will reduce heating and cooling costs, but also will improve comfort. Attics could be properly remodel with different methods like thicker insulation, irradiant barriers and whole-house fans.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY WINDOWS AND DOORS

Inefficient windows could count up to 25% of the energy waste in a building. Also, health issues produced by leaky windows like condensation resulting in mold and other airborne pathogens.  Noise reduction, and low ultra violet rays coming into the building among other benefits.  Synergys offers cost benefit solutions to our customers to upgrade your windows, and we provide assistance to our customers if there is any rebate available from local governments.

COOL ROOFS AND CONCRETE DECKS

Roofs and pavements cover about 60 percent of urban surfaces and absorb more than 80 percent of the sunlight that contacts them. This energy is converted in heat, which results in hotter, more polluted cities, and higher energy costs. Cool surfaces are measured by how much light they reflect (solar reflectance) and how efficiently they radiate heat. Increasing the reflectance of our buildings and paved surfaces -whether through white surfaces or reflective colored surfaces- can reduce the temperature of buildings, cities, and even the entire planet.

REMOVE ARTIFICIAL GRASS AS IT IS PART OF WATERLESS LANDSCAPING

A big part of improving the energy efficiency of your building resides in the proper equipment and cooling strategy.  It is important to upgrade old inefficient AC units for modern high efficiency units.  Establishing a regular maintenance plan and implementing the proper cooling or heating strategy are fundamental steps towards reducing energy consumption. This method along with a smart energy system could drastically impact the cost of energy in the property.

WATERLESS LANDSCAPING

The average of residential lawn requires 10,000 gallons of water each year, and as a non-renewable resource, water is becoming scarcer and more expensive. The pollution caused by the tools needed to maintain the landscaping are another factor affecting our environment.  The right alternative is the implementation of drought resistant design that require minimal maintenance and water access. Synergys specializes in offering our customers landscaping design, installation and maintenance.

COOL ROOFING

Cool roofs use highly reflective materials to reflect more light and absorb less heat from sunlight, which keeps homes cooler during hot weather. Cool Roofs save money by lowering your utility bills. Less electricity is used during peak demand hours when air conditioning systems can shut down earlier in the day. Cool Roofs can dramatically extend the serviceable life of your roof, deferring the need to re-roof by years and years. At Synergy our specialists participate in regular training to ensure your roof is installed to the latest industry and manufacturers’ standards.
